    Hey DM,

    I'm running master/e5927b5a3

I have areas setup like this:

    ....
    [21] Zer0Net 9
    *[22] CommodoreNet 0
    [23] NixNet 8

ie: I've defined a group "CommodoreNet", but not yet added any subs to it.

If, after logged in at the main menu (using the default shell), I type /23 to switch to NixNet, I see no change.

If I type /22, the prompt changes to "NIX" (for NixNet). (/21 takes me to Zer0Net as expected).

If I type * to list the subs, I get this:

    ■ Main ■ 0:01:17 [22] NIX [1] NIX ADMIN: *
    Sub-boards of CommodoreNet Posts

    And returned to the prompt.

If I type "NG" (to list the new messages in the current group), I get the NixNet subs:

    ■ Main ■ 0:00:02 [22] NIX [1] NIX ADMIN: N

    New Message Scan

Sub-board: NIX ADMIN, Group: NIX, or All: G

NIX NixNet Administration New: 0 of 0 ....
NIX Running a BBS under *nix New: 0 of 0 Message Scan (8 sub-boards) complete.

IE: I think there is an inconsistency here. Either 22 CommodoreNet shouldnt be shown and NixNet should be "22", or "/22" should take me and change the prompt to commodorenet, and "NG" shouldnt return anything (and /23 should take me to NixNet as I would have expected).

I can verify that I can reproduce the issue myself. Thanks for the bug report. I created https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues/905 to track the issue.
