RW> Actually, it is. It is: https://mygmrs.com/repeater/9220

Near Niagara Falls! Visited a couple of years ago. Pretty amazing place although the parking garage was a bit sketchy.

That repeater uses transmit tone 203.5 and receive tone 203.5. You don't need the receive tone unless there are other repeaters on the same frequency and you don't want to hear both of them at the same time. Let's assume you can ignore the receive tone. In this case I recommend the following settings (for CHIRP but other software is very similar):

    Loc Memory channel number
    Frequency 462.550000
Name Escarp550 (or whatever you want to call it)
Tone Mode Tone (transmit tone only)
    Tone 203.5
    Duplex +
    Offset 5.000000
    Mode FM
    Power High

In CHIRP if you want to apply both transmit and receive tones, set Tone Mode to TSQL, Tone to transmit tone and ToneSQL to receive tone.

Let me know how it goes!

For GMRS I have the Baofeng UV-5G handheld. Programming should be similar to the 5R. What software are you using? For the Baofeng I use CHIRP. Interestingly it identifies as "Radioddity UV-5G".

Repeater setup depends on the transmIt and receive tone requirements, and whether it uses CTCSS or DCS codes.

Is the repeater you're wanting to reach listed on mygmrs.com? I can look it up and suggest CHIRP settings that should work for your radio.

You may want to search Youtube for GMRS repeater setup videos. Good info there as well.

It's listed but I cant find a place to doiwnload chirp from that does not nag you to download something else unrelated first.

Hi Jason. The only issue I am having right now is not knowing if my Baofaeng UV-5R is even hitting the local GMRS repeaters I monitor.
