I would love a 2E. My school had one when I was younger and Macs have always been my preferred devices.

Never tried a mailer on a Mac yet :)

I also have a 2C in excellent shape with the rare color monitor.

I *know* there was a mailer written for 2E/2C, just can't remember the name and pretty sure it just did Netmail only.

WOW now that makes me jealous.

I went down the Linux rabbit hole for years especially with bbs and fidonet. I am looking at an older Mac Mini and will fidonet it

I would like to find a mailer or at least an Ansi terminal for my Apple 2e.

Ansi terminal: Agate. It has some bugs and is weird to use, but once you get it working, it works. There was more than one version that I found online. ProTerm does a little bit of ANSI... but like Agate, though.
Also there's a vt100 terminal that works with the Fujinet that isn't bad either.. but not full on crazy ANSI color.
