1/2 md Ripe cantaloupe;
- seeded, cut from the rind
1/2 c Fresh orange juice
2 lg Limes; juice of
1 md Ripe banana;
- peeled, cut into chunks,
- frozen
Fresh mint leaves;
- for garnish (optional)
Although this is best made with sweet, ripe melons, I've found that
it can be a great way to use up a cantaloupe that is less than
perfectly sweet--the banana and citrus juice work wonders at
transforming the flavor into a luscious smoothie.
Cut the cantaloupe into chunks and place in a blender. Add the orange
juice, lime juice, and banana, and process until thick and creamy.
Pour into two glasses, garnish with mint leaves, if desired, and
serve at once.
