Hi Mike,
We ended up with about 3.5 inches (measured on our back deck). Other areas got a lot more, including 17" down in Swansboro on the coast
where
Oh goodness, sounds like you got lucky there.
Quite so; we got caught between two systems that were supposed to merge
and give us a whopper of a storm. They didn't merge but gave us enough "weather" to keep kids out of school for a couple of days, then delayed
start time for the rest of the week. Black ice was the main "worry
issue". Some kids had remote learning, some had snow days, depending on
the type of school (traditional, year round, etc) they went to.
We try to be. Right now I'm pulling from that stock to load up the camper; we're heading down to Florida soon for a ham radio event. I

I've got to get some stuff for a veggie/relish tray for the first
one. > Second one I'll be doing the crock pot goulash, have all I need

I like to try to be ready to travel some time in advance also. For me
it is so I can identify any forgotten odds and ends that might pop up
(and need time to take care of) before I head out. There is always something last minute, isn't there? ;)
Usually so; I've got my clothes and a lot of the non fridge foodstuffs
out in the camper. Just have to load up the fridge (after a shopping
trip and raiding our fridge and freezer). I've also got to grab a sewing project (have one bagged), make sure I have the right thread color for
it to keep me busy while Steve is "radioing".
Hope you all have fun at your event.
Thanks, we'll be seeing some folks we've met at previous events, meeting
a lot of new faces to go with call signs. Steve's is NY4NC, or as he
says, "I left New York for North Carolina". (G)
