Yes. I've already spoken with the maintainer of the main upstream repository, and he suggested exactly this approach for RU.GOLDED: to make the Unicode branch version 2.0. But first, we need to thoroughly test all the features in use, compile a list of UX cases, and stabilize my branch — there are still bugs, and suggestions are still coming in :)
