But you didn't wait long enough.
Windows OS has a "System Write Cache".
When you make a transfer, some portion of files are
kept in the RAM. On one of my computers, it takes
50 seconds for the RAM to drain to the backup drive.
It is imperative that I not rip out the cable, during
that 50 second interval, or there will be file system
damage.
To ensure the draining process is complete, always
use "Safely Remove". It is better to use that, than
to keep a table of values for when ripping the cable
out is, um, clever.

That's how you tell the computer to "hurry up and
drain out that damn RAM cache of yours". That ensures
the files are put away on the Backup Plus. When the dialog
comes back saying you are good to go, now you can
pull out cables and so on.

To check the integrity of the Backup Plus F:\ partition,
you can use CHKDSK.
Do you see the "Check" option at the top of the window here ?

Doing "Properties" on F:\ will get you there.
That "Check" thing calls
chkdsk /f F:
for you. If you do that to your C: partition,
it needs a reboot of the OS, for the CHKDSK run
to complete. For the other partitions, the check
can run, without any reboot needed.
You can even "Check", wait for the dialog to come
back indicating the Check went OK. Then use the
Safely Remove, before ripping out the cable.
