I appreciate your efforts, but that link doesn't seem to mention about anything working for a DEFUNCT e-mail address, which is what I asked about in my original post. If there is nothing that would work for a defunct e-mail address, then that's OK, as I would at least have my suspicion confirmed.

I don't use AOL mail, but a quick search gave a guide on how to setup email forwarding in AOL mail's web interface.
