NAPLES, Fla. u Florida police arrested and charged Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman's stepson Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of
the man's teenage son.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office said 39-year-old Gregory Zecca was
charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence in connection with the incident that happened on July 19. Deputies said the aggravated manslaughter charge
carries the potential penalty of life in prison.

Investigators said Zecca had consumed alcohol over several hours before drinking more and using marijuana at a friend's residence, where Zecca and
his son were watching TV. Zecca allegedly drew the weapon from his
waistband and fired it without live bullets multiple times near the child.
The magazine was allegedly reinserted at some point during the night, chambering a live round, before Zecca fired it again and fatally struck
the child.

"This was a heartbreaking and preventable tragedy,o Sheriff Kevin Rambosk
said in a social media post. "Our detectives conducted an exhaustive and thorough investigation, examining every element of what happened through witness statements, forensic testing, subpoenas, search warrants, and
more."

TMZ was the first to report the shooting in July. In a statement to the outlet, Chapman and his wife, Francie, asked for privacy as the family
deals with the tragedy.

"We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident
and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony," the couple said in their statement.

Chapman became a household name when he captured Max Factor heir Andrew
Luster in 2003, and was given his own series, Dog the Bounty Hunter, in
2004. In that show and a number of spin-offs, camera crews captured
Chapman and his associates tracking down fugitives as bail bondsmen.
